RIALTO BEACH

Limited FineArt Print (Hahnemühle)

Wild nature and black sanded beaches.

Rialto Beach (Washington, USA) was on our list as the final destination of our PNW trip back in 2018. We knew that the tide would rise shortly and make the hike along this wild and rural beach quite a challenge. We decided to take the adventure and followed the tracks to solitude.

Photography

The mood is the most essential part of any photograph. But what does that mean? Mood can be created by a story in your image, a matching point of view or a perfect edit. But there are also things that are hard to impact, no matter how hard you try. Things like the weather, the light and the surrounding of your location. Things that are exclusively affected by nature and mostly last for a brief moment.
If you miss them, you have simply been too late.

Those are the things I was looking for in the past few years. A challenge that goes hand in hand with the factor “luck” and honestly this can be a very frustrating journey. But there are also moments when things go beyond expectations. Moments when I found myself in the fields with a dropped jaw. Those are the moments that justify all the efforts and failed tries. And this is how this print series originated.

Print

To make sure your print will provide the full colour experience over the years we have used pigmented inks to protect it from bleaching. For shipping it will be wrapped in silk paper and a robust tube will protect it from damage until it arrives at your destination.

Most of the damage that happens to the paper or printed surface happens between the moment when you remove it from the tube until it is framed on the wall. If you are patient enough I recommend you to leave it in the tube until you have your frame ready and decide to finally hang it. Ask a friend for help if you need to carry the print without protection – four hands work better than two. Also remember not to touch the printed surface without fabric-gloves. Otherwise you will leave permanent and visible fingerprints.

I have always kept the focus on creating an exclusive and high quality product. Nevertheless it was important for me to keep it accessible and affordable. Also I was given the opportunity to profit from the knowledge and expertise of people that work in the FineArt printing industries since centuries. Before the release I have made several testings on each image to make sure the highest quality standards will be provided. This is a local product made in Switzerland.

Framing

What is a print without the perfectly matching frame? Unfortunately I am not able to offer you an already framed solution. As we all know, the shipping companies do not always handle the parcels as careful as they’re supposed to. Basically, this is the reason why it is nearly impossible to ship a framed print with the guarantee that it will arrive at the final destination without any damages. But luckily, there are thousands of options in many stores and if you are looking for a more exclusive way to frame your print, I recommend you to ask a framing expert near you.

I personally really like the more plain framing options. But this is definitely a matter of taste. If you are not exactly sure what frame will be the best for you, maybe also have a look at the furniture that surrounds the wall / spot where you are going to place your print. Combined designs and complementary colours always work very well together. If I can somehow help you in this process, please let me know.

For those looking for a more modern option, you can also mount your print onto an Alu Dibond plate. The “Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm” paper works very well with this technique and most printing houses are offering this service.
